This vegan brownie recipe is spectacular as it manages to get the job done in a great way. The vegan brownies are fudgy, chewy, and have a deep chocolatey flavor that I love. The recipe itself is simple, and you don’t have to be a pro to pull it off.

How to Prepare Vegan Brownies

The recipe is easy and quick to prepare. Once you have all the ingredients, all you have to do is follow the instructions below.

Ingredients for Making Vegan Brownies

Here are the ingredients you need to prepare the yummy vegan brownies.

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups of brown sugar
  • â…” cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup of vegan butter
  • ¼ cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 banana, mashed till smooth
  • 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of non-dairy chocolate chips

Instructions for Preparing Vegan Brownies

Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to make vegan brownies at home.

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400°F (or 200°C) and line a 7 x 11 pan with parchment paper.

Step 2: In a big bowl, add in the mashed banana, almond milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and vegan butter, mix until well combined.

Step 3: Now, in another bowl, add in all the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and whisk together.

Step 4: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix until just combined. Afterwards, gently fold in half of the chocolate chips.

Step 5: Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and use a spatula to smooth out the top. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over it.

Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center. If it doesn’t come out clean, bake for an additional 5-10 minutes.

Step 7: Remove from the oven, allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then pull the brownies out, using the parchment paper, and place on a cooling rack for another 15-30 minutes. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes:

  • If you can’t get almond milk, you can use any other plant-based milk, but make sure it is unsweetened and unflavored.
  • If you have leftovers, you can store the brownies in the refrigerator for a couple of days. I think they even taste better the day after.

This vegan brownie recipe is one of my top go-to treats as a vegan. It is fudgy, sweet, moist, and has a deep flavor. I love how chewy it feels and can’t get enough of the chocolatey goodness after taking a bite. In all these, it is worth noting that it is still so good with plant-based ingredients only.
