- Preheat your oven to 350°F(or 180°C). Line an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch pan with parchment paper and grease the inside of the pan to prevent sticking.
- In a small bowl, mix the ground flaxseeds with the water. Set aside to thicken.
- In a big bowl, add in the mashed banana, vegan butter, brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, flaxseed mix, and milk, and mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Now, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan, and bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a couple of minutes, then remove and transfer to a wire rack to continue cooling for up to 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Notes
- When mixing the dry and wet ingredients, make sure not to overmix, as it is quite normal to still see lumps of banana after mixing them.
