Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz vegan cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter softened (not melted)
  • 2½ – 3 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt this is optional, but it helps balance sweetness

Instructions
 

Beat the vegan butter and cream cheese:

  • In a mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the vegan cream cheese and vegan butter together until smooth and creamy (about 2 minutes).

Add the vanilla:

  • Mix in the vanilla extract until combined.

Add powdered sugar gradually:

  • Add 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low at first to avoid a powder cloud.
  • Increase speed to medium and beat until light and fluffy.
  • If you prefer a thicker frosting, add up to 1/2 cup more powdered sugar.

Taste and balance:

  • Add a pinch of salt if needed to reduce sweetness.

Chill if needed:

  • Vegan cream cheese frosting softens quickly—chill for 15–20 minutes before frosting if you want it firmer.
