When you make the switch to the vegan side, a lot of things change about your diet, and this includes the drinks you take. Since the vegan lifestyle prioritises healthy eating, some drinks are not suited to that. You don’t have to stress yourself as I’ll show you some of the Best Vegan Drinks for Vegans that you can incorporate into your diet.
Top Vegan Drinks for Vegans
Here are some of my favorite vegan drinks that I always recommend to vegans, they are super healthy, packed with nutrients, and still have a great taste.
1. Kiwi smoothie
Smoothies are undeniably enticing, and when you pair that with Kiwi you get a drink that is nearly perfect. Kiwis are a cheat food with so many benefits as it is rich in vitamin C, dietary fiber, and antioxidants.
Just gather some slices of Kiwi alongside some peeled cucumber, and some orange wedges, then blend until smooth. This Kiwi smoothie is rich in nutrients, and great for cleansing and detoxifying the body.
2. Oat milk latte
Would this list be complete if I skipped out on the infamous oat milk latte, this is just latte but made with oat milk. Oat milk is rich in calcium and vitamin D, and other minerals that are needed in the body.
Oat milk lattes are creamy, delicious, giving you the perfect caffeine boost that you need to start your day.
3. Watermelon juice
Watermelon is a wonderful fruit that has multiple health benefits as it is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It helps with hydration, digestion, and generally contributes to the overall well-being.
Toss some fresh watermelon chunks into a blender and puree till smooth, strain, and you get a delicious watermelon juice that is all natural. If you want to spice things up, you can add a bit of turmeric powder or cumin powder.
4. Vegan hot chocolate
I think this vegan hot chocolate is way better than the normal hot chocolate; it tastes a bit better and is way healthier. Thanks to the flavonoids in cocoa, this drink improves brain function, blood flow, and helps with regulation.
Once you have your hot chocolate ready, add in a plant milk of your choice and a natural sweetener, and you’ve got a guilt-free indulgence.
5. Orange juice
Oranges are another fruit that makes the cut for my list of top vegan drinks for vegans. It is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, all of which are known for their numerous benefits.
All you have to do, peel the oranges, remove the pith and white layers, then blend until pulpy after which you can strain and have your juice. This orange juice is quite sweet which is something a lot of people like but if you don’t like it, you can tone it down with a bit of lemon or lime juice.
6. Matcha latte
Matcha latte is a popular drink, and it is favoured by lots of vegans, so it is no surprise that it makes this list. Matcha is a type of green tea leaf, and it is known for its great antioxidant properties, which help the body in many ways.
Matcha latte is seen as an alternative to oat milk latte as it doesn’t have caffeine but still provides a noticeable energy boost. The slightly bitter matcha flavor mixes with the non-dairy milk to create a perfect creamy flavor balance.
7. Ginger shots
Ginger is known for its numerous medicinal benefits, and well, it also makes for a delicious drink that vegans will appreciate. This ginger shot is known for its numerous benefits as it helps with digestion, boosts the immune system, and with weight loss.
Peel some garlic and toss it in the blender with some orange wedges, turmeric, lemon juice, and enough water. Puree until smooth and strain to get your finger shots.
8. Pineapple juice
Pineapple happens to be my favorite fruit, and apart from its wonderful taste, it is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. All these mean that it makes for a tasty and healthy drink that vegans crave.
Into your blender, add in pineapple chunks with a little bit of peeled ginger, some lemon juice and cold water, then blend until smooth. Strain into a glass and enjoy your drink.
9. Almond milk smoothie
Almond milk is the OG of plant-based dairy so you can’t go wrong with this. Even as a standalone drink, almond milk is still great and when you pair it with some fruits and nuts, you get something better than great.
Almond milk is rich in vitamin E, and when you take the nutrients you’d get from other fruits like bananas, apples, berries, and nuts, you already have a superfood. Toss the fruits and nuts into the blender and add a generous amount of almond milk, then blend. Enjoy!
10. Coconut water
As simple as it looks, coconut water is another drink that vegans should try out. It is a great source of hydration and is rich in natural electrolytes and other nutrients.
If you work out frequently, you can replace your post-workout drinks with coconut water as it will replenish your body with the needed electrolytes. And not just that, coconut water is known to help with kidney health.
These are my top vegan drinks for vegans, and they all have two things in common: great taste and being a healthy option. They all have natural ingredients and are rich in different nutrients that the body needs. Though not all are on the list, any other natural fruit juice is still great for you.
